Lambda Introduces 1800W, 3-Phase AC-DC Industrial Power Supplies

July 30, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Lambda has introduced a new family of 1800W power supplies. The single-output HWS1800T series are suitable for powering industrial equipment used in applications that demand long field-life and ultra-high reliability.

These 3-phase ac-dc power supplies are available in ten output voltages: 3.3, 5, 6, 7.5, 12, 15, 24, 36, 48 and 60Vdc. To accommodate non-standard system applications the 3.3 to 36V models can be adjusted +/-20% and the 48 and 60V supplies can be adjusted +10/-20%. The 24V and higher output voltage supplies feature a remarkable peak power of 2520W. For example, the 24V supply is rated at 75A and has a peak current capability of 105A.

The HWS1800T series accepts a wide range of 3-phase input voltages, from 170 to 265Vac (47-63Hz) and meets the tough SEMI F47 power line sag specifications. Remote On/Off, Remote Sense, Remote Adjust, DC Good and single-wire Current-Share controls and signals are standard. In addition, a front panel mounted Green LED is lit when the supply is on. Overcurrent, overvoltage and over-temperature protection is also provided.

The power supplies feature a high-quality internal fan and can be operated in a -10 to +70°C ambient environment. The units come in a compact footprint of 4.98 x 3.23 x 11 inches, making them suitable for mounting in a 2U rack. Key applications include factory automation, semiconductor fabrication and automatic test equipment (ATE).

The new Lambda power supplies meet FCC Class A and EN55011/55022-A EMI standards (conducted and radiated) and are safety-approved to UL/CSA60950-1 specifications. They also meet IEC61000-4-2-X immunity standards and are RoHS-compliant.

The HWS1800T series are available now and priced from $1295 each in 50-unit quantities.
