Knitter Switch Debuts 4000/4100 Series Switches

June 25, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Knitter Switch (UK), a leader in switching products, introduced two new families of low-cost DIL switches introduced in response to market requests. The 4000 and 4100 Series have 2-way to 12-way contacts; end-stackable, tin-plated terminals; and a large variety of switch types and terminal versions. All models have Knitter quality at their heart with reliable, self-cleaning, double-contact construction and gold contacts. Raised (4100 Series) and recessed (4000 Series) actuators are available with top and side (piano) options while all switches with recessed actuators are sealed with protective tape and are 100% washable.

The switches can be provided in tubes for through-board mounting and are taped and reeled for flush- and surface-mount assembly. All popular pin-outs are available (edge, piano and space-saving J-wing terminals) where the solder contacts are folded under the switch body. The typical mechanical lifetime is 3,000 operations per pole minimum and contacts are rated at 25mA at 24Vdc or 100mA at 50Vdc non-switching. Contact resistance is typically less than 50MΩ and the operating temperature is over the range of –30°C to +85°C. All devices may be auto-soldered on to the PCBs and case material is UL94 V-0.
