J.W. Miller Debuts PM104SH Series Power Inductors

October 21, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

J.W. Miller (Gardena, CA) introduced its new PM104SH Series of shielded SMT power inductors for high-current applications. Magnetically shielded construction emits a low level of radiation when operated at high frequencies and at high ripple current conditions, protecting circuit functionality.

The PM104SH inductors feature low dc resistance, a ferrite bobbin core and a low-profile, compact size. Measuring just 10.0mm x 10.2mm x 4.0mm, the new inductors are suitable for a wide range of applications, including computers, servers, network cards, industrial electronics, PDAs, electronic game devices, battery chargers, digital media players, and high-frequency wireless communication devices.

Performance characteristics include an inductance range of 1.5µH to 330µH, a dc current range of 0.52A to 6.5A, and an operating temperature range of –40 to +100 degrees C. The inductors are shipped in 1,000 units per tape-and-reel and are priced at $0.65 in production quantities.
