ITW Paktron Reports New Voltage Rating for Capstick

New Products May 12, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

ITW Paktron (Lynchburg, VA) introduced a 250 Vdc rating in the Capstick® capacitor - type CS Series. The high-performance, multi-layer polymer (MLP) film capacitors feature ultra-low ESR and high ripple current capability in a small case size. The devices are designed for high-frequency filtering and EMI/RFI suppression in ac-dc or dc-dc power conversion applications.

The MLP capacitor provides improved stability, both electrically and mechanically, compared to large multi-layer ceramics, according to the company. The MLP also features “non-shorting” operation, and does not crack like large ceramic chip capacitors. The CS Series capacitance values range from 0.33 µF to 20 µF, and voltage ratings include 50 Vdc, 100 Vdc, 250 Vdc, 400 Vdc and 500 Vdc. Both through-hole and SMD mounting configurations are available.

Typical pricing for the 250 V rating is $1.49 in production quantities. Delivery is from stock to six weeks.
