The industry appetite for waterproof and ingress protection features is increasing. In keeping with this trend, Positronic has produced the WCBD Series, a waterproof version of the popular Combo-D mixed power/signal connector family. The WCBD has the ability to mix power and signal in a single connector body capable of up to 40 Amps per size 8 contact. Rated mechanical operations per IEC 60512-5 IP67 are: Immersion Rated 250 operations minimum and IP65 Spray Nozzle Rated 500 operations, minimum. These connectors are rated for use from -25 to +85 degrees C.
This system consists of an input/output connector mechanically mounted and sealed to the enclosure wall. The connector and enclosure together provide a degree of protection from dust and moisture in accordance with IEC and NEMA ingress protection requirements. The connector will protect the enclosure from dust, splashing water, rain, or limited water immersion.
Other features include: IP67 rating ideal for non-sheltered/outdoor environments; Flexible, thermal-resistant adhesive seal; Vertical and right angle solder PCB terminations in two (2) tail diameters; Optional flying leads; Mounting accessories and hardware that prevent water and dust ingress into the enclosure; Optional closed entry PosiBand® female contact for ruggedized applications; and Composite mounting plate, optional stainless steel shell and heavy gold plating offer long-term corrosion resistance.
