International Power Sources Announces the UL150 Series of AC/DC Power Supplies

September 28, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

International Power Sources Inc. (Holliston, MA) announced a line of ac/dc power supplies. These compact converters supply 150W in an industry-standard U-bracket package only 6.8" x 3.8" x 1.5".

There are four models with quad-output voltages in the new UL150 Series. Autoranging allows input voltages of 90Vac to 132Vac and 170Vac to 264Vac without the need to configure the supply with jumpers, switches or straps. Output-voltage selections include 5V and 3.3V with 12V, 15V, 12V/-5V and 24V/-12V. Custom configurations are also available. A main output-voltage trim range of 10 percent is intended to allow output flexibility. Input to output isolation is greater than 3,000Vac for safety-agency requirements.

The new series has approvals from UL, CSA and TUV, and EMI limits per FCC and CISPR. Connections for power-good indicator, fan power and remote on/off ease the design-in of these supplies. Voltage accuracy is better than five percent at full load for surface-mount components. Fully loaded 100-percent burn-in is intended to enhance reliability. There are also protection schemes for over-voltage, short-circuit and over-temperature.

OEM quantity pricing for the UL150 Series is below $99. Prototype quantities are available from stock.
