International Components Corp. (ICC), an established global leader in designing and manufacturing portable rechargeable systems, launched a new series of ac-dc external power adapters benefiting a broad range of electronic devices. Marketed under the Elpac Power Systems brand, the FWA065 is the latest addition to the company’s portfolio of high-efficiency power supplies that are ENERGY STAR® Level V compliant – the highest available rating.

According to the company, the new 65W series delivers an industry-leading converter efficiency of up to 91%, a power density of 4.9W per cubic inch, and up to 72W of output power.

The FWA065 series offers OEMs a very high efficiency in active mode and a no-load power consumption of less than 0.5W to align with Energy Star standards and other worldwide energy-saving initiatives including CEC, EISA, and the European Code of Conduct.

This 65W external power supply provides the flexibility of a pre-approved power solution for a variety of commercial applications including computer peripheral, communications, and networking equipment. The FWA065 features a universal ac input (85 - 264 Vac) and single outputs of 9, 12, 15, or 24 Vdc. It is offered in a compact frame of 155.9 x 127.6 x 34.8mm (5.02 x 2.2 x 1.37 inches) that is convection-cooled and needs no internal fan. This unit also includes over-temperature, over-voltage, and over-current protection as standard features with maximum noise and ripple limited to less than 1% peak-to-peak.

The FWA065 series is compliant with UL 60950-1, CE, EN, and IEC standards and can be designed to meet non-standard output voltage and connectivity requirements. ICC can also design a 100% custom solution to meet specific OEM requirements and private label markings.

The FWA065 is competitively priced at $32.64 US in OEM quantities of 1,000.
