Hybrid Construction Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

New Products Feb 09, 2017 by Jeff Shepard

NIC Components announced the release of NSPE-TC series claiming the maximum capacitance value per case size obtainable today. The advanced aluminum foil technology used in NSPE-TC series results in improved volumetric efficiency to meet the requirements of high-density designs, support lower-profile applications and reduce the size of PCB assemblies. Case sizes ranging from 8mm X 10.5mm to 10.5mm X 12.5mm V-Chip constructions. Capacitance values range from 33uF to 560uF in 25V and 35V ratings.

Operating temperature for the NSPE-TC series is -55 to +125 degrees C with load life endurance rating of 4,000 hours at +125 degrees C. The NSPE-TC Series meets PB-Free reflow conditions up to 260 degrees C and is RoHS Compliant without exemptions, halogen free and REACH compliant.

Hybrid capacitors incorporate the best elements of both solid polymer and liquid electrolyte construction to achieve ultra-low ESR, high ripple current ratings, low leakage current and superior stability over voltage and temperature. The NSPE-TC series meets the requirements of AECQ200 and suggested for use in automotive grade applications or where higher quality components may be required.

NSPE-TC series features include: Higher capacitance per case size; Stable ESR & Z over Temperature; Low ESR (20mΩ to 33mΩ) & High Ripple Current (1.95A to 3.0A) ratings; Reduce the number of components used; and Low leakage current, upgrade over solid polymer type.
