Gresham Intros CPCI-AC-4U-400 PCI Power Supply

June 09, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Gresham Power (Salisbury, UK) introduced its new CPCI-AC-4U-400 high-efficiency, 400 W, compact PCI power supply, which has the option of a market-leading Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) card. The CPCI-AC-4U-400 power supply conforms fully to the relevant Compact PCI specifications and offers "hot-swap" connection, output-current sharing for N+1 redundant operation and requires no minimum load to function correctly.

The backplane connection is via the standard Positronic 47-pin PICMG 2.11 connector. Standard output-voltage configuration is 5 Vdc at 50 A, 3.3 Vdc at 80 A, +12 Vdc at 7 A and –12 Vdc at 1 A. Input voltage is "universal" from 85 Vac to 264 Vac over the frequency range of 47 Hz to 63 Hz, and a 48 Vdc input version is also available for telecomm applications. Full output power is available over a temperature range of –10 °C to +55 °C with just 15 cfm of cooling. The efficiency of the unit is better than 81% at 230 Vac input, minimizing system cooling requirements and space-saving dimensions of just 6U x 8HP x 169.60 mm.

Available now, the power supply is safety agency approved to UL, CSA and TUV, is CE marked, and the conducted EMC meets EN5022 Class A and FCC-68, Part-15.
