‘Green’ Energy Saving 9W DC-DC Converters with 4:1 Input

FiDUS Power has launched the FR series of regulated 9-Watt dc-dc converters. In a SIP 8 package it claims industry leading power density of 65W/in3. The FR has two 4:1 input ranges of 9- to 36-Vdc and 18- to 75-Vdc and feature 1600Vdc isolation.

Single output units are offered with 3.3-, 5-, 9-, 12-, 15-, 24-Vdc. Dual output units can deliver ±5Vdc, ±12Vdc, or ±15Vdc. Remote on/off is standard, this allowing users to control the output electronically for sequencing or standby.

The unit can operate from -40 to 85 degrees C delivering full power up to 50 degrees C for 3.3V and 60 degrees C for all other voltages. All converters meet EN55032 class A with no additional components. These 9W dc-dc converters measure 0.86 x 0.44 x 0.38” (21.8 x 11.2 x 9.6mm).

Efficiencies range from 82% to 89%, depending on the model. Continuous short-circuit protection and reliability greater than 900khrs per MIL-HDBK-217F, 25 degrees C GB are standard features. These ultra reliable products carry a 5-year warranty.
