Glassman Intros New LH Series Power Supply

New Products Jun 09, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Glassman High Voltage Inc. (High Bridge, NJ) introduced a new family of power supplies designed for applications having 5,000W output-power requirements. The LH Series offers models that provide a fully adjustable output-voltage range from 1kV to 100kV, while providing low output ripple and noise, proprietary ArcQuench and Arc-Sensing circuitry, and high-speed dynamic voltage regulation with recovery to within 0.1 percent in 1 millisecond. The LH Series is suitable for use in vacuum-processing-related applications, including Magnetron sputtering, Electron-beam coating and Ion-beam deposition. The LH Series can also be used as a reliable, general laboratory supply.

The new LH Series features notable technology benefits, including Glassman proprietary air-insulation technology, where air is used as the primary dielectric medium in comparison to competitive models that utilize silicon rubber, epoxy or oil; and proprietary arc-sensing and quench circuitry that will suppress arcing conditions that can occur regularly in high-voltage applications, and that provide maximum safety and protection for both the power supply and customer load.

The LH Series is CE-Mark certified and can be utilized with the RS-232 digital interface option, which is now available for most of Glassman’s standard models.
