eupec Offers New Lead-Free Product Family

eupec (Warstein, Germany), a subsidiary of Infineon Technologies AG (Germany), presented its first complete product family complying with the high-level European Union guidelines 2002/95/EG: Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances, and also 2002/96/EG: Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. The EasyPIM™, EasyPACK, EasyBRIDGE and EasyDUAL low-power IGBT modules are used in industrial applications.

"With this we are well ahead of time regarding the realization date of July 1, 2006, demanded in the European Union guidelines," stated Thomas Licht, project leader in charge at eupec. "From this date onward, electric and electronic equipment newly released in the market may not contain lead, mercury, cadmium, polybromide biphenyl or polybromide diphenyl ether."
