ETA Power Debuts EPX-600SX AC/DC Module

February 11, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

ETA Power Europe Ltd. (Switzerland) introduced its new 600W, ac/dc input, front-end module, the EPX-600SX, which is designed to satisfy the combined requirements of a universal input, near-unity power factor and high efficiency, in a lightweight, industry-standard package. The EPX-600SX module is suitable for heat-critical and space-critical applications because of its non-requirement of additional heatsink or forced-air cooling.

The new EPX-600SX active power line disturbance circuitry copes with a wide range of input fluctuations, while the power-factor correction implementation ensures low levels of harmonic distortion in the line current. Features include a mean time between failures of over one million hours; a universal input with under-voltage protection that accepts line voltages of 85Vac to 265Vac at a frequency of 47Hz to 63Hz; output power of up to 600W; efficiencies approaching 94 percent; an output voltage of 380Vdc; and a DC–OK signal and an inrush current limiter.
