Empire Magnetics (Rohnert Park, CA) introduced its new dustproof motors, which feature built-in OR-ing seals that eliminate dust leaks at potential penetration points. The motor insulation allows operation at 145 degrees C, and the case temperature (185 degrees C winding temperature) and air fittings for pressurization are supplied.
The new motors are pressure-rated to 15psi to lock out contamination. They are available in industry-standard 23, 34, 42 and 65 frame sizes. For unique and demanding applications, dustproof and abrasive dustproof step motors can be combined with the following environmental options: radiation hardened, waterproof and extended temperature.
