Emerson Network Power Introduces NetSure 4015, 400V DC Power System
Emerson Network Power introduced the NetSure™ 4015 DC power system, a 400V DC system designed for data center, telecommunications and commercial facilities. This is one of the first 400V DC power systems on the market, and the first in a series of 400V DC products currently under development by Emerson Network Power. It is available for global deployment.
The NetSure 4015 system was introduced during INTELEC 2012, where Emerson Network Power this week presented several technical papers on 400V technology and also participated in a live demonstration of an end-to-end 400V DC system.
"As the lines between telecommunication networks and computing loads continue to blur, traditional approaches to supporting infrastructures are evolving," said Mark Murrill, senior marketing manager of 400V DC power initiatives for Emerson Network Power's Energy Systems business. "With many decades of experience delivering both AC and DC power solutions to data center and telecom customers around the world, Emerson Network Power is uniquely positioned to provide innovative technologies tailored to the next generation information ecosystem. The NetSure 4015 is an example of that type of solution and is designed to address the industry's increasing power demand, rising energy cost, and the need for more efficient and reliable networks."
Equipped with Emerson Network Power's patented, high-efficiency eSure™ AC to DC rectifiers, the NetSure 4015 DC power system provides 30kW of power at greater than 96 percent efficiency over a wide operating range, with a peak near 97 percent. It converts 3-phase AC input to DC output from 336V-400V DC. The system consists of three major components: a main power and control sub-rack, optional output breaker sub-racks, and battery backup trays, to meet the deployment needs for many applications. Factory integration enables reduced site turn-up time, and all system components fit into a standard 24U or 42U IT rack.
Emerson Network Power is leading industry discussion on 400V DC deployment on several fronts, including active engagement in the standardization process with organizations such as NEMA in the United States and ETSI in Europe, and at events like INTELEC 2012 with technical and plenary sessions.
Emerson Network Power also is a member of the EMerge Alliance, an open industry association developing standards for the wider adoption of DC power distribution in commercial buildings.
