EMCO High Voltage Releases the C80 and C80N Power Supplies

August 13, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

EMCO High Voltage Corp. (Sutter Creek, CA) has released two new, regulated, programmable power supplies providing 0kV to 8kV while weighing 2oz. Models C80 and C80N (negative output) are compact, pc-mount power supplies suitable for use in image intensifiers, small CRTs, FEDs, detectors, electrostatic field generators, ion pumps, electrophoresis, electro-optic devices, igniters, capacitor chargers, test equipment, streak cameras and all other applications requiring a miniature source of regulated, programmable high voltage.

The new power supplies are controlled by way of a 0V to 5V DAC-compatible programming voltage. They feature a quasi-sinewave oscillator, a shielded transformer and a plated-steel enclosure. EMCO claims that the power supplies have very low EMI/RFI and ripple. An externally accessible trim pot allows for individual calibration of units.

Models C80 and C80N are available from stock priced at $325 in single-piece quantities, with quantity discounts available.
