Eltek Valere Targets Small Industrial & Telecom Applications with Wallbox Ultra Compact Power System Enclosure

April 07, 2011 by Jeff Shepard

Eltek Valere announced the release of the new Wallbox ultra compact and multi voltage dc power system enclosure designed for space constrained industrial and telecom applications. The flexible, wall-mounted unit houses complete power systems, including distribution and advanced controllers, from 250W up to 6 kW.

The Wallbox houses either Eltek Valere’s Flatpack2 HE high efficiency rectifiers or its Micropack DC small power system. The enclosure can be used in 12, 24, 48, 60, 110 or 220Vdc output applications. In some small load configurations, the unit can even incorporate batteries.

"The demand for small and cost-effective dc power systems that still offer full system functionality is growing in utilities, railway and other industrial sectors, as well as with 4G small cells and wired broadband sites in the telecom market," said Morten Schoyen, Chief Marketing Officer of Eltek Valere. "The Wallbox not only fulfills this demand, it leverages Eltek Valere’s investment in HE technology to help customers reduce energy waste and reduce operating costs."

The ultra compact Wallbox design is well suited for locations with limited space. With dimensions of 452 x 200 x 250mm and a weight (excluding the rectifiers) of approximately 11 lbs (5 kg), it is easily installed.

The enclosure has a removable front cover for easy access during installation and connection. It comes with a bulk output dc feed that can also be configured with integrated load and battery distribution to meet individual power solution requirements. The Wallbox is optimized both for Micropack with its natural convection cooling and for Flatpack2 with its horizontal fan cooling. Both versions have global CE/UL/CSA approvals.

The Flatpack2 high efficiency Wallbox offers a basic power core with two rectifier positions, a Smartpack2 controller and a bulk dc output feed with optional dc distribution. The power core is suitable for any Flatpack2 HE rectifier module and the system output can be based on the following modules: 24V/1800-3600; 48V/2000-4000W; 60V/2000-4000W and 110V/2000-4000W.

The Micropack Wallbox basic power core has four rectifier positions, a Compack controller and a bulk dc output feed, but can also be configured with a two-position power core and optional dc distribution. The power core is suitable for any Micropack rectifier module and the system output can be based on any of the following module: 12V/120-480W; 24V-240-960W; and 48V-250-1000W.
