Electronic Concepts Intros SE4 Series Capacitors

New Products Feb 16, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Electronic Concepts Inc. (Eatontown, NJ) introduced the SE4 Series of metallized polyester, surface-mount, power supply capacitors that was developed to meet the next-generation challenges facing the electronic industry. The SE4 hi-rel capacitor is a suitable replacement for un-encapsulated PPS, polyester and ceramic capacitors.

The SE4 has the ability to withstand solder reflow to 260 °C, and has capabilities to operate at +125 °C without showing any signs of degrading by solder process. Other features include voltages to 200 Vdc; dv/dt as high as 217 V/µF in a compact case, which allows for miniaturization and/or increased PCB density; operational integrity and long service life; protection from humidity (as high as 90 percent); and 100-percent encapsulation.

Two styles of lead frame configurations are offered. The gull-wing style and the J style (suitable for PCB space utilization).
