Elantec Semiconductor Intros New EL4501C IC

May 12, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Elantec Semiconductor Inc. (Milpitas, CA) introduced its integrated dc-restore and sync-separator IC, the EL4501C, which combines two functions that are usually provided by separate ICs. Applications include high-volume consumer products, as well as professional equipment, security video, data-extraction and video effects equipment.

With 100MHz bandwidth, the EL4501C is designed for input-interface applications where it processes the video signal and extracts timing information. The EL4501C also includes a data-slice function for extracting embedded data information in the video signal. The EL4501C operates from a single 5V supply, features inputs that go to GND, and has rail-to-rail output capability.

The EL4501C is now available in sample quantities in a 24-pin TSSOP package, and is priced at $4.50 in 1,000-unit quantities.
