March 01, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Eaton Corp. (Cleveland, OH) announced a new, double-conversion, online, 8,000 kVA to 15,000 kVA uninterruptible power system (UPS), the Powerware 9155, which produces a high level of protection from power disturbances for critical equipment while saving real estate in server rooms where floor space is scarce and costly. By delivering a 0.9 output power factor, the Powerware 9155 can easily accommodate high-power factor load requirements, and is suitable for modern servers and computer loads.

The Powerware 9155 features a double-conversion online architecture that ensures immediate transfer to backup power in the event of a power outage, and offers 22 minutes of backup time at 10 kVA. The system also addresses next-generation power requirements by providing a high efficiency of 90%, which reduces utility costs and produces cooler operating conditions. The Powerware 9155 UPSs are available in 8 kVA, 10 kVA, 12 kVA and 15 kVA, and feature a scalable design to meet current and future load requirements.
