DuraComm Introduces New Series of "Environmentally Hardened" Power Supplies

October 07, 2008 by Jeff Shepard

DuraComm announced a new line of "environmentally hardened." The new EH series has been designed specifically for use in difficult operating environments and installations. The EH-12-15N, the EH-24-10N and the EH-48-5N, are indoor/outdoor power supplies housed in 16 gauge steel NEMA 3R enclosures. Each is designed for a multitude of applications in security, surveillance as well as for telecommunications systems that require full weather protection against dust and water. Additional features include low voltage disconnect, LED indication for dc out and ac fail, internal battery and welded wall mounting brackets/flanges.

The EH-LVD series offers low voltage disconnect in a diecast aluminum NEMA 4X enclosure for protection against dust and dirt. As with other DuraComm LVD products, these units protect equipment that is sensitive to low voltage during battery operation, stop battery damage due to over-discharging, disconnect batteries at a safe voltage level and reconnect once power is restored. Suitable for telecommunications battery back-up systems in a choice of 12, 24 or 48Vdc.

DuraComm also introduced the EH-30, a 400W power supply with universal ac input, a working temperature range of -30 to +50°C, active power factor correction, battery back-up input with charging circuit and up to 30A (maximum). This power supply is compatible with all LP hoods, thus making custom mounting of mobile radios a simple process. Additional features include built-in parallel capability for load-share applications, protections against over load, over temperature, over voltage and short circuit, as well as full RoHS compliance.
