Today Vicor released four additional dc-dc converters that are deployed in the rugged, chassis-mountable versions of its DCM™ family of isolated, regulated dc-dc converters. These new products extend the family by adding two 270V nominal products (two 500W devices with 12V and 28V outputs) and two 28V nominal products (a 180W device with 5V output, and a 320W device with 15V output) in VIA packages.

Key specifications include: Wide input range, nominal input voltages of 300-, 290-, 270-, 48-, 28-, and 24-V; Nominal output voltages of 48-, 36-, 28-, 24-, 15-, 12-, 5-, and 3.3-V, providing regulated output voltages from 3- to 53-V; Power density up to 1,244 W/in3 in a 1.69 in2 footprint; Efficiency up to 93%; Isolation up to 4,242-Vdc; and Array up to eight units with no power derating.

DCMs are commonly used in industrial and process control markets, distributed power, ATE, communications, defense/aerospace, semiconductor manufacturing equipment (SME), and transportation.
