DATEL Unveils New UWR DC/DC Converters
DATEL Inc. (Mansfield, MA) announced its new 26W to 40W, UWR Series of single-output, switching dc/dc converters, which unite a fixed-frequency, fully synchronous, forward topology with low on-resistance power FETs to deliver high efficiencies and more power.
The UWR's power density is achieved with a high-frequency (300kHz to 360kHz), forward topology that delivers a high efficiency of 88 to 90 percent for 5Vout models, a low noise output of 75mVp-p, a tight line/load regulation of ±0.5 percent maximum, a quick-step response of 200µsec, a stable no-load operation for circuits going into "sleep" mode, a wide temperature range of –40 to +55 degrees C without derating, a tight setpoint accuracy of ±1 percent, 3V outputs at 8A to 9A and 5V outputs at 7A to 8A, and no output-reverse conduction.
The six basic models in the UWR Series offer two output voltages of 3.3V and 5V, and three input-voltage ranges of 10V to 18V, 18V to 36V and 36V to 75V. All are fully isolated, 1,500Vdc guaranteed, and I/O protected, including input-pi filters, input over-voltage shutdown and under-voltage lockout, output over-voltage protection, current limiting, short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown. All UWR converters satisfy UL, EN and IEC60950 safety requirements for functional insulation. D48 models with 36V to 75V inputs are CE marked.
Now available in a standard 2in x 2in package, the UWR Series are priced at $65 each in singles, and $43 each for 1,000 pieces. Additional high-quantity discounts are available for OEM customers. Production quantities are from six to eight weeks.
