Cherokee Ships New DPS1200 Front-End Power Supply

Cherokee International LLC (Tustin, CA) announced the company is shipping the DPS1200 48V, 1,200W, 2U, ac/dc front-end power supply for high-end server, networking and PBX systems that employ distributed power architectures.

The DPS1200 provides 1,200W at high-line 220Vac, 800W at low-line 110Vac and is compatible with the server system infrastructure initiative version 2.0 specifications. Cherokee's DPS1200 turns out 6.6W per cubic inch and features active current sharing, hot-swap capabilities, N+1 redundancy and an I2C interface.

The DPS1200 meets strict EMI Class B regulations and measures just 4.86in x 2.74in x 13.74in. The DPS1200 is power-factor-corrected and boasts an efficiency of 85 percent at full load, protects against over-temperature conditions, and does not have a pre-load requirement.

The DPS1200 is available now at $285 for 250-piece quantities.
