Cermetek Releases Autonomous AC Power Monitor

New Products Apr 11, 2010 by Jeff Shepard

Cermetek Microelectronics Inc. announced the release of a new generation of iPower Monitor, the CH6650. The CH6650 operates without system host or user intervention. The CH6650 monitors 110 or 220Vac power and sends a stored Email message to all pre-programmed Email addresses any time power is interrupted or re-established. According to the company, the CH6650 is well suited for Facilities Chiefs, Property Managers and IT Administrators who face serious consequences when power is lost.

Messages and Email addresses can be easily programmed into the CH6650 using the Cermetek iNetWizard software. iNetWizard runs on XP, XP Pro, Vista and Windows 7 MS Windows PCs and provides a simple, intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI) for communicating with the CH6650. The CH6650 connects to the PC through a standard USB 2.0 interface. The CH6650 also provides dial-up access to permit remote programming.

"Extended power outages can cause substantial damages: refrigerated foods can spoil, pipes can freeze, sensitive processes can be interrupted. The CH6650 immediately notifies the Facilities Manager of any power outages, so efforts can be made to avert any damages," said Cermetek President Henry Roskos. "With a simple notification the problem can be fixed or safeguards can be taken."

The CH6650 is now available for Beta distribution. Full production will begin in May. The single-piece price of the CH6650 is $495.00.
