January 01, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

C&D Technologies (NCL) Ltd. (UK) announced its new TX1000 single-output 1kW ac/dc power supply designed to provide the performance and features necessary to comply with relevant international standards. It incorporates PFC circuitry and EMI filtering.

Housed in a self-cooled chassis that measures 127mm x 124mm x 305mm, the power supply accepts a wide input range from 90Vac to 264Vac, and is offered in nine models with outputs ranging from 5Vdc to 48Vdc. All models, except the 5V version, can be specified with an optional OR-ing diode. Standard features include remote-sense compensation, output-voltage adjustment, active current sharing, remote-inhibit, a power-fail warning, a dc-ok signal and thermal shutdown.

The unit achieves a typical power factor of 0.99, ensuring compliance with EN61000-3-2. Built-in EMI filtering meets the requirements of the FCC/CISPR Class A standard. It also features EMI immunity to EN61000-4. It is CE marked and carries UL and VDE approvals.
