January 21, 2010 by Jeff Shepard

BEAR Power Supplies has introduced an economical new line of external switching power supplies. The new BEAR BE Series external ac-dc power adapters are Energy Star qualified and factory-configurable for a wide range of commercial, industrial and medical instruments.

The BE Series includes wall-mount converters from 5 to 30W, and desktop converters from 15 to 60W. All have universal ac input and factory-configurable output voltage (single output from 3.3 to 48Vdc). Users can specify almost any output connector including plugs, jacks and DIN connectors. Output cord style and length is also factory-configurable.

Available input power plug styles include North America, Europe, the UK, Japan and Australia for wall-mount models; and IEC-C8 or IEC-C14 for desktop models. The BE15UN 15W model features user-changeable power plates for both wall and desktop use. BE Series adapters can also be configured for constant voltage, constant current, or other special requests.

"BEAR specializes in meeting customer requests, and this new BE line is no exception," said Brenda Fultz, Sales Manager for BEAR Power Supplies. "The wide range of configuration options allows us to offer exactly what the customer needs in a very economical manner. We can also provide any additional customization that may be required, from a non-standard line cord to a full-custom power supply."

The BE Series power adapters are RoHS compliant and have country safety approvals for North America (UL/CSA or CUL), Europe and the UK (TUV/GS/CE), Australia (SAA, C-tick) and Japan (PSE).

Pricing starts at $10 each for quantities of 1000.
