May 09, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

AVX/Kyocera (Singapore) announced its new low-inductance chip capacitors, which feature an inductance of 325 pH to 450 pH, a capacitance of 0.1 µF to 3.3 µF, and a capacitance tolerance of ±10 percent (K) and ±20 percent (M).

Available in 1608 (0603), 2012 (0805) and 3216 (1206) case sizes, the chip devices are rated at 6.3 Vdc, 10 Vdc, 16 Vdc or 25 Vdc, and have a dissipation factor of 6.5 percent (6.3 Vdc), 5 percent (10 Vdc), 3.5 percent (16 Vdc) and 3 percent (25 Vdc). The devices have an insulation resistance of 100 gigaohms and operate within the -55 °C to +125 °C (X7R) or -55 °C to +85 °C (X5R) temperature range.
