Astec Power Intros LPT81 Power Supply Family

Astec Power (Carlsbad, CA) announced its LPT81, the first model in its new switching power supply family, which is designed for 1U installations and network, telecom, manufacturing and industrial applications. The LPT81 complies with EN61000-3-2 requirements for input-current harmonic content and features power-factor correction.

Weighing in at 4.5W/in³, the 3in x 5in x 1.26in unit can deliver up to 13A from each of its two main outputs. The device also has wide-range, universal input voltages and frequency ranges of 85Vac to 265Vac and 47Hz to 400Hz. The LPT81 provides three outputs that are factory set at 3.3V, 5V and 12V. The unit’s two main outputs are user-adjustable over a range of 1.8V to 3.5V for output one and 3.3V to 5.5V for output two.

The LPT81 features more than 550,000 hours of demonstrated mean time between failures, over-voltage protection on the two main outputs that rides 20 to 35 percent above the output-voltage set point, remote-voltage sensing on both of the two main outputs, a remote-inhibit input that controls all outputs, a power-fail output signal, overload protection on all outputs, and inrush current-limiting circuitry.

The LPT81 power supply complies with the major worldwide safety and performance standards and has UL, CSA, CE, CB, NEMKO and VDE approval markings. Designed to meet FCC Class B and CISPR22 Level B conducted emissions, the LPT81 also meets most industry-standard noise and immunity requirements when properly mounted and grounded within an approved chassis.
