American Power Conversion Intros AIS Series UPSs

American Power Conversion Corp. (APC, West Kingston, RI) announced its new AIS Series of three-phase, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) developed for industrial applications and processing plants in the chemical, pharmaceutical, transportation, semiconductor, and food and beverage industries. The AIS Series are double-conversion online UPSs that provide power protection from 10 kVA to 100 kVA.

The AIS 3000 uses an architecture of modular components in a compact footprint and provides power protection from 10 kVA to 30 kVA. The AIS 5000, which provides power protection from 10 kVA to 100 kVA, uses an architecture of modular components utilizing inverter, charger, static switch and control electronics.

The new AIS 3000 and AIS 5000 are currently available, worldwide and in North America, respectively. The AIS 5000 will be available worldwide by the first quarter of 2005. Pricing for the AIS 3000 starts at $16,000, and pricing for the AIS 5000 starts at $32,000.
