Alpha Technologies Launches New Low Profile Cordex Power System
Alpha Technologies Ltd. announced the launch of the Cordex HP™ 300W Power System, a modular, low profile dc power system with integrated distribution that enables service providers to supply 48V power to small, mission critical loads such as distributed antenna or broadband terminations.
According to the company, unlike other low current 48V power systems, the Cordex HP 300W provides carrier-grade features such as NEBS certification, wide input ac range, N+1 redundancy, integrated distribution with front and rear access, and Internet control and monitoring, all in a compact 1RU package.
Key features of the Cordex PSU include:
-- Clean and reliable dc power supply for critical loads available in two options: 24V/400W or 48V/650W
-- Internet ready and remotely accessible for complete and cost effective system and site monitoring
-- Advanced battery charging, monitoring and testing to ensure sufficient reserve power availability and prolonged battery life
-- Configurable platform with I/O’s for site monitoring, user-definable alarms, data logging and control
-- Extended temperature range for installation in harsh outdoor environments
-- Wide ac input operating range for world-wide installation requirements
"The 300W rectifier is the right size building block for small load applications like DAS and wireline terminations in telco closets. A single shelf can hold up to three rectifiers, so it covers a wide range of applications," remarked Mourad Chergui, Product Manager – DC Power and Shelf Systems at Alpha. "The high end features such as a Web-enabled digital controller and multiple distribution points, along with NEBS compliance, provide large system performance in a small system footprint."
