Agile Systems Debuts DPC1-3 Digital Power IC

September 08, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Agile Systems Inc. (Waterloo, ON) announced its new DPC1-3 digital power IC, which is targeted to power conversion and power management applications. The DPC1-3 is intended as a microprocessor peripheral interfacing to high-current power devices. Capable of gate drive of both the high- and low-side of three half bridges, the DPC1-3 also measures and converts the current through two bridges. The DPC1-3 interfaces to the microprocessor through a serial interface receiving 10-bit PWM values and providing digital values of current, temperature, high-voltage and short-circuit status.

The DPC1-3 operates at up to 100V and is applicable to three-phase motor and solenoid drives as well as power conversion applications in portable electronics, industrial, white goods, office, automotive and medical markets. In addition, the DPC1-3 technology is utilized as a key element of Agile's digitalPOWER™ family of blocks, drives, amplifiers and distributed control products.

Samples of the DPC1-3 are now available with four weeks lead time.
