Advanced Power Conversion Debuts APC-Q062 Series

February 03, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Advanced Power Conversion plc (APC, Farnborough, England) announced a new 60W dc/dc converter with two fully isolated outputs in a compact and versatile package, the new APC-Q062 Series, which employs state-of-the-art design that operates at the rated wattage without requiring a heatsink. The new APC-Q062 Series is a low-profile, single-board converter in the standard quarter-brick-size footprint (36.8mm x 57.9mm x 10.2mm).

Low output noise, remote sense and remote on/off, and 1,500V I/O isolation make

the new modules suitable for distributed power architectures, telecommunications,

datacommmunications and any application requiring isolated power. When combined with high conversion efficiencies of 90 percent at full load, low weight and small physical dimensions, the APC-Q062 is suitable for driving the current generation of 5V DSPs, and the 3.3V output helps to meet the requirements of the emerging generation of

high-performance, ultra-high-density microprocessor chips.

The APC-Q062 is available immediately with a wide input voltage of 36Vdc to 75Vdc;

fixed-frequency operation; adjustable output voltages; and a comprehensive range of safeguard features, including over-temperature and output over-voltage

protection, plus 100ms of input-voltage transient protection.
