Advance-Galatrek Reveals GDC 50-33 DC Rectifier

June 05, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Advance-Galatrek (UK) revealed its new GDC 50-33 dc rectifier, aimed at critical telecommunications, mobile and Internet applications. The new PowerPak GDC 50-33 offers remote management capabilities that provide the ability to monitor and control various remote sites, whether manned or unmanned, from a central control station. The GDC 50-33 can be operated remotely and features a design that allows up to six rectifiers to be mounted in a parallel or n+1 configuration on a single 19” rack shelf; up to seven rectifiers can be mounted on a 23” shelf.

With a rectifier amperage of 33A, the GDC 50-33 provides an output of 48Vdc. The system can also operate as a stand-alone power supply, with a single-phase input. The system features a front panel displaying power information, and utilizes float temperature curves. It incorporates natural cooling, though the optional 42A module offers forced cooling. Other features include hot-swap, active current sharing and RS232 communication.
