Advance-Galatrek Intros ETX Series of Plinths

November 25, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Advance-Galatrek (UK) introduced the ETX Series of Plinths, designed to partner models in the Elite UPS range and convert any model in the range from a transformerless design into a full galvanic-isolation UPS. A special transformer, based on Advance-Galatrek's range of low-impedance power conditioners, acts as a harmonic filter to protect the load from electrical noise and transients.

Spanning capacities from 700VA upwards, the ETX Series offers voltage conversion, ideal for applications such as industrial sites running on 110Vac, 50Hz or 120Vac, 60Hz sites, where voltage conversion is needed for

satisfactory equipment conversion. European sites running hardware originally designed for US use can also be accommodated. Certain models in the range also feature a manual maintenance bypass, which allows the UPS to be powered down, or even removed, without causing disruption to the load.

The ETX Plinth sits beneath the Elite UPS, taking advantage of plug-and-play connectors for easy installation. Separate wall-mounted maintenance bypasses are also available, featuring both manual and automatic transfer, and providing optional transient protection.
