90W Medical Power Adapters with 0.87-Inch Profile

TRUMPower unveils the TMP92 series of low-cost medical-grade ac-dc desktop power adapters. Packaged in a low profile black-colored plastic enclosure, the unit has a compact size of 5.51 x 2.80 x 0.87 inches. The TMP92 Class II units are furnished with an IEC 320/C8 ac inlet without a ground pin and class I units come with an IEC 320/C6 ac inlet that has a ground pin. The TMP92 series can operate at 90- to 264-Vac, 47- to 63-Hz universal ac input power. The standard output connector is a 5.5 x 2.1 x 11 mm right angle barrel plug. The series offers standard single dc output voltages of 12V, 18V, 19V or 24V with continuous output power of 90W; non-standard output voltages and other connector options are available upon request.

The TMP92 series is approved by UL and TUV to the latest 3rd edition medical standards, including IEC/EN 60601-1:2008, ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1: 2005 and CSA-C22.2 No. 60601-1:08. The power adapter complies with EN 60601-1-2 EMI and immunity standards including EN 55011/FCC/VCCI class B (conducted and radiated emissions), EN 61000-3-2, EN 61000-3-3, EN 61000-4-2, EN 61000-4-3, EN 61000-4-4, EN 61000-4-5, EN 61000-4-6, EN 61000-4-8, and EN 61000-4-11.

With efficiency higher than 88%, the TMP92 series is in compliance with CEC and Energy Star efficiency level V requirements. The unit can withstand 4,000Vac from input to output and 1,500Vac from input to ground. Class I models have an earth leakage current of 160µA maximum at 264 Vac/63 Hz and all models can operate at an ambient temperature range of 0 to +60 degrees C, with no derating required between 0 to +40 degrees C. Both Class I and Class II models have a touch current of 40μA maximum at 264 Vac/ 63Hz. The MTBF is higher than 100,000 hours at full load and 25 degrees C ambient per MIL-HDBK-217F. The power supply is fully protected against overvoltage, overload, and short-circuit conditions.
