50W and 300W Chassis-Mount DC-DCs for Rail Applications

With Cincon's continued focus on the development of Railway application market the company has added two new wide-input dc-dc converters. The first is the chassis-mount dc-dc CQB50W12-72S CMFC(D) Series (pictured above). With a wide 10:1, 16.8- to 160-Vdc input range, this new product is chassis mountable dc-dc converter offers 50 Watts of output power with voltages of 5-, 12-, 24-, 28-, 48-Vdc and 3000Vdc basic isolation.

Cincon has also added the chassis-mount dc-dc CHB300W-110SXX-CMFC(D) Series. With a wide 4:1, 43- to 160-Vdc input range, this new product is chassis mountable dc-dc converter offers 300 Watts of output power with voltages of 5-, 12-, 24-, 28-, 48-Vdc and 3000Vdc basic isolation.

The 300W CHB300W-110SXX-CMFC(D) Series has a low no load power consumption requirement of 15mA. Efficiency can go as high as 90.5%, and has a case operating temperature of -40°C to 100°C. An external heatsink is required to expand the full power range of the product.

The 50W CQB50W12-72S CMFC(D) Series has a very low no load power consumption requirement of 8- to 12-mA. Efficiency can go as high as 89%, and has a case operating temperature of -40°C to 100°C.

300W CHB300W-110SXX-CMFC(D) Series

Other features of the CQB50W12-72S CMFC(D) Series include remote on/off (positive or negative) and -20~+10% adjustable output voltage (±10% for the CHB300W-110SXX-CMFC(D) Series). The chassis structure offers built-in EMI EN50155, EN50121-3-2 filter, and meet EN45545-2 requirements for the essential railway market needs. Also, it meets UL60950-1 & IEC60950-1 safety. Also, the CHB300W-110SXX-CMFC(D) Series is approved for UL60950-1 2nd (Basic Insulation) for DC modules.

Fully protected against input UVLO (under voltage lock out), output over-current, output over-voltage and over-temperature and continuous short circuit conditions.

Although these products were primary design for all common railway applications, it is also suitable for other markets such as industrial, telecommunications, battery operated equipment, and distributed power architectures.
