1.0mΩ High-Side Smart Power Switch

Infineon has announced the BTS50010-1TAD, the lowest ohmic smart power switch on the market. It is part of the Power PROFET™ family of high-side smart power switches. With a 1.0mΩ RDS(on) single channel, it offers benchmark current and energy capabilities to drive applications up to 40Adc.

Power PROFETâ„¢ switches replace high-current relays and fuses to allow new mounting locations and support the trend towards decentralized, intelligent and cost-effective vehicle power net architectures. The BTS50010-1TAD single channel Smart High-Side Power Switch is delivered in a PG-TO-263-7-10 package, including protective functions and diagnosis.

It includes Infineon® ReverSave™ functionality. The power transistor is built by ab N-channel power MOSFET with charge pump. It is specially designed to drive high current loads up to 80A, for applications like switched battery couplings, power distribution switches, heaters, glow plugs, in the harsh automotive environment.

It is suitable for resistive, inductive and capacitive loads and can replace electromechanical relays, fuses and discrete circuits. It is considered most suitable for applications with high current loads, such as heating system, main switch for power distribution, start-stop power supply switch and for pwm applications with low frequencies.
