Ziebart Officially Takes Infineon CEO Seat

September 01, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

In an expected move, Wolfgang Ziebart officially took over as Chief Executive Officer of Infineon Technologies AG (Germany). The appointment of Ziebart, formerly deputy chairman and executive board member at automotive supplier Continental AG and management board member at BMW, puts a clear emphasis on Infineon's placement in the automotive electronics world.

Ziebart replaced Ulrich Schumacher, Infineon's former CEO, who resigned abruptly in March. Accordingly, Max Dietrich Kley, who held the position temporarily for the semiconductor manufacturer, will immediately reassume the role he left in the interim as Infineon supervisory board chairman.
