ZAP Power Systems (Sebastopol, CA) has signed a marketing agreement with Smith & Wesson (Springfield, MA) under which Smith & Wesson will be the exclusive law enforcement bicycle platform for ZAP's patented electric motor system. Smith & Wesson has likewise agreed to sell its bicycles for electric applications exclusively to ZAP. "ZAP is extremely pleased with the quality and specifications of Smith & Wesson's bicycles," stated Brooks Van Holt, manager of ZAP's law enforcement products. "With 147 years experience in law enforcement, Smith & Wesson has a unique knowledge of what the market wants. Our electric bike customers will appreciate the craftsmanship of bicycles that were developed specifically for and by law enforcement."
