ZAP Premieres All-Electric XEBRA City Car

November 21, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

ZAP (Sebastopol, CA) announced the premiere of its production all-electric XEBRA city car at the San Francisco International Auto Show, which runs from November 19-27, 2005, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. The XEBRA project is the offspring of more than three decades of evolution in electric transportation, and is designed to meet the needs of today's drivers. The new XEBRA city car offers a unique design that is suitable for urban, non-freeway driving, and for households that want an inexpensive vehicle for running errands. The XEBRA car needs no gas at all, and just plugs into a conventional outlet.

ZAP Chairman Gary Starr stated, "We designed the XEBRA to be unlike anything else on the market. The use and purpose of electric vehicles is different than gas cars, so the wheel did need to be invented."

ZAP has entered into a manufacturing contract with a Chinese automaker to produce the XEBRA. ZAP is currently taking advance orders on the new car. Dealers and consumers can schedule test rides by visiting the ZAP Booth, Number 1030, at the San Francisco Auto Show.
