Würth Elektronik eiSos is pleased to announce its cooperation with and support for the European Passive Components Institute s.r.o. (EPCI). The cooperation includes the development of easy-to-use web-based tools for designers of passive component hardware, educational tools for schools, and promotion of the passive components industry to everyone interested in this field.
Würth Elektronik eiSos has become a gold sponsor of EPCI and co-sponsor of the upcoming international Passive Components Networking Days PCNS in Brno, Czech Republic, in September 2017.

Designers of such enabling technologies prefer open web sources to get the latest information, benchmarking, knowledge base, etc. Easy to find, online resources of passive components information, such as EPCI activities and its website, represent one of the important communication channels that are growing in influence,†said Alexander Gerfer, CTO Würth Elektronik eiSos Group.

EPCI was established in July 2015 with the objective of building bridges between European passive component manufacturers, test houses and universities, and the end users of passive components. EPCI has established several open projects to support the passive component industry through web-based electronics tools such as: the European Passive Industry Database (currently more than 150 entries); e-PassiveBook – an online passive components manual (under preparation); e-Symposium. – an online technical information support platform (under preparation).
EPCI cooperates closely with ESA, the European Space Agency and other academic and industrial organizations on passive component projects. EPCI co-sponsored ESA’s 2nd Space Passive Components Days, at ESTEC in October 2016, and was shortlisted for the European Industry 2016 Electra Award in the category Educational Support.
EPCI and the Brno University of Technology are jointly organizing the first PCNS Passive Components Networking Days, 12-15 September 2017 in Brno, Czech Republic, for leading passive components manufacturers and universities.
