Trace Purchases Equity In Pulse Energy Systems

June 28, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

Trace Holdings (Arlington WA) announced it has purchased an equity position in Pulse Energy Systems (Nevada City, CA). Pulse Energy manufactures UL-listed components for renewable energy systems. They will continue to manufacture their products in Nevada City but, as of this quarter, their products will carry the Trace logo. The new Trace product line will consist of all Pulse equipment including charge controllers ranging from 4 to 500A and custom build sizes; power centers, which are complete power component kits including controllers, disconnects and breakers; and accessories, including ground fault detectors, combiner boxes, lightning arrestors, meters, fuses, breakers, monitors and shunts. "The addition of Pulse Energy products strengthens Trace's offerings, allowing us to better serve our customer base worldwide," stated Trace Vice President of Sales and Marketing Sam Vanderhoof. "Reliable, advanced and economical, Pulse equipment perfectly complements our current line." Trace also announced the inauguration of new facilities in California and Europe, along with the expansion of operations at their Arlington headquarters. "We're producing as fast as we can to meet the needs of our distributors and their customers," stated Vanderhoof. "But with Y2K, the utility-tie and backup power markets going gangbusters, it's been hard to keep up."
