August 22, 2016 by Power Pulse1595211359

The US Solar industry is projected to double the amount of installed capacity in 2016, with some municipalities making the pledge to go completely renewable by 2030. Solar Power International, North America's largest solar trade show, confirms that solar is an industry on the move.

The publication Trade Show Executive recently awarded Solar Power International as one of the Fastest 50 growing trade shows for the second year in a row. Solar Power International’s growth helped move their ranking up as the 101st largest US trade show by square foot in 2015, a list released by Trade Show News Network. The event has been a “Gold 100” trade show for being recognized as one of the largest 100 trade shows in the nation that set the gold standard for the industry by Trade Show Executive six years in a row. Solar Power International is the only solar show to make all three lists.

Solar Power International provides an exhibit floor featuring the latest product offerings, multiple networking opportunities, and an education program that highlights the latest in the solar industry and best practices. The event is produced by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA). All proceeds from the event go right back into the solar industry.

The event attracts over 15,000 attendees from more than 75 countries, and continues to grow each year. Attendance for both exhibitors and attendees is expected to increase once again in 2016 in part due to the boom in business that the solar industry is experiencing.

“Solar power is becoming more popular due to technological advances in the solar industry,” said Stephen Miner, CEO of Solar Energy Trade Shows, LLC. “The passing of the ITC helps solidify the future for the next five years. We are expecting Solar Power International to continue to grow.”

Solar Power International is the largest solar trade show in North America. Numerous highly-prominent companies and individuals in public-facing roles attend the event. The 2015 event featured Joe Biden, Vice President of the United States, as the keynote speaker.
