Software-Defined Power at PCIM Europe 2015

PCIM Europe will again be hosted in Nuremberg. It will take place next week, May 19-21 and Darnell's PowerPulse will be providing daily coverage. One of the highlights of the technical papers is expected to be: "Software defined digital power conversion in medium to low power ac-dc SMPS applications," presented by M. Fahlenkamp with Infineon Technologies AG. In addition, nine seminars and nine tutorials of well-known experts regarding topics such as "Practical Application of 600 V GaN HEMTs in Power Electronics" or "Advanced Design with MOSFET and IGBT Power Modules" round up the program.

At the industry forum in hall 6 highly qualified presentations, expert discussions, project presentations and market overviews will be delivered by trade associations, the trade press and exhibiting companies. On Tuesday, 19 May 2015, for example Thomas Harder, General Manager of ECPE European Center for Power Electronics e.V. Germany, will introduce the network of ECPE as well as their joint research programs.

On Wednesday, 20 May 2015, current topics such as “Reliable Volume Production of Wide Band Gap Semiconductors” or “Quo Vadis Power GaN” will be debated in panel discussions at the industry forum. Representatives from companies like Cree, EPC, GaN, Infineon, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Texas Instruments and Transphorm will participate in the panel discussions.

Within 20 minutes each, more than 50 exhibitors will present their latest product developments, innovations and solutions at the exhibitor forum in hall 7. Vishay Electronic, Infineon Technologies, Thales Microelectronic, Mentor Graphics, Vincotech, Magnetec, Fairchild, OPAL-RT Technologies, Cree, Yokogawa, ABB, Semikron, Alpha, Analog Devices or Panasonic are just a few of the companies which will compactly inform the visitors about their product highlights at the exhibitor forum.
