Software-Defined Power and IIoT at ARM TechCon

October 24, 2016 by Jeff Shepard

Xilinx, Inc. will showcase its Zynq® SoCs and MPSoCs that power Embedded Vision and IIoT applications at ARM TechCon 2016. Conference presentations and demonstrations will showcase how Xilinx is enabling solutions to meet the wide range of application requirements throughout smarter, connected, and differentiated systems. Visit the Xilinx Booth #812 at ARM TechCon, October 25-27, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.

Xilinx presentations will include: Tuesday, October 25 at 3:30 pm – 4:20 pm, Ballroom G, Software-Defined Power Optimization for All Programmable SoCs. Dan Isaacs, Director of Strategic Marketing for Industrial IoT at Xilinx, will discuss the suitability of software-defined power management for a variety of embedded applications and provide details of system software and firmware, interfaces and tools required to deploy software-defined power management to heterogeneous multicore systems.

Wednesday, October 26 at 2:30 am – 3:20 pm, Ballroom F, Heterogeneous Multiprocessing to Meet Contextual Requirements . Glenn Steiner, Senior Technical Manager at Xilinx, will present how a multicore ARM processor-based heterogeneous processing system with programmable logic can meet the needs of demanding applications such as real-time processing, high data bandwidth processing, data I/O and system control.

Xylinx demonstrations will include: Cybersecurity Malware Detection for Industrial IoT Applications – Presented by PFP; This demonstration will showcase a Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC-based security appliance that continuously monitors and detects malware implants in routers and other IIoT devices.

Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC – Ultra HD Video Processing; This demonstration will showcase how the Zynq® UltraScale+™ heterogeneous multiprocessing system for data management and control will enhance high data bandwidth processing, software acceleration, and peripheral expansion using the ARM® Cortex™ A53.

Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC – Powered Robotics; In this product demonstration, see how the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC can overcome design challenges that require complex software applications, real time data processing, and functional safety. This Industrial "Pick and Place" demonstration displays how this single device can manage application processing, handle real time tasks, and reliably meet safety critical goals.

Dense Optical Flow & Stereo Vision Example Designs Built Using the SDSoC Development Environment; This demonstration will highlight how software developers can easily use Xilinx All Programmable SoCs to implement sophisticated embedded vision algorithms using a familiar Eclipse-based development environment - without mastering RTL. Unlike standard ASSP environments the SDSoCâ„¢ Development Environment will enable developers to rapidly prototype and prove their designs in an easy and flexible manner.
