RF Micro Devices Inc. (RFMD, Greensboro, NC), a provider of proprietary radio frequency integrated circuits for wireless communications applications, announced the opening of a new customer support and design center in Toulouse, France.

The office has been established to support collaboration between the company and leading wireless manufacturers located in Toulouse and other parts of Europe, in order to focus on the development of EDGE and WCDMA cellular products, including RF Micro's Polaris 2 Total Radio transceiver and module devices.

Staffed by a team of applications engineers, system engineers and technicians, the Toulouse center is primarily focused on developing radio solutions for 2.5G and 3G standards and providing direct support to customers. The company expects the design center team to further enhance collaboration between RF Micro and wireless manufacturers who are using the Polaris Total Radio solution.
