REpower Systems Goes Public on Neuer Market

April 01, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

REpower Systems (Hamburg, Germany), a developer of wind power rotors and turbines, dared to go public on Germany's Neuer Market, the first company to do so in eight months. REpower decided to go public due to a need for fresh capital in order to pursue company-expansion plans.

REpower Chairman of the Board Fritz Vahrenholt stated, “The climate isn't that good at the moment. There's no denying that. But we can't wait any longer. Investors have shown a lot of interest. We've got a good track record: a 50-percent growth forecast for this year and the next, as well as a two-digit profit margin. And things are looking up for wind power.”
