October 24, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Proton Energy Systems Inc. (Rocky Hill, CT) held a ground-breaking ceremony at the Wallingford site of its future company location. Proton's new 100,000sqft facility is being built to accommodate its projected growth within the emerging alternative energy sector. The building will include Proton's corporate headquarters and space for manufacturing, research and product development activities. The building is expected to be ready for occupancy by mid-2002.

Walter “Chip” Schroeder, president and CEO for Proton, added, “We have embarked on an exciting journey at Proton. We are committed to the development and commercialization of critically important alternative energy sources. The building of our new facility will give us the capacity and enable us to hire the people needed to further this goal."
