Primarion and Intersil Announce PowerCode Development

February 24, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Primarion Corp. (Tempe, AZ) and Intersil Corp. (Irvine, CA) announced plans to co-develop a digital multiphase power management IC called PowerCode for use in next-generation multi-GHz advanced processors. The companies expect to sample a development kit, with a unique software-user interface based on PowerCode, next quarter with volume production to be scheduled in the third quarter of this year.

"The Primarion PowerCode digital power architecture will act like an electronic fuel-injection system, providing information-quality power to advanced processors requiring low operating voltages and high transient currents," said Dan Clarke, president and CEO of Primarion.
